SLJ Day 4 activity 2

Task:
For this activity, imagine that you were allowed to change your name to anything that you wanted.
On your blog, tell us what you would change your name to and why you would choose that name.

  1. Kia ora Chase,

How are you doing today? I hope you're enjoying your Christmas holidays!

I would also find this activity really hard because I've just always been Tayla, so I can't think of any other name that I would suit. You've done really well to think of a name that means a lot to you!

I think carrying on someones name, especially if they've passed away, is a very special thing. From reading what you've said about your uncle Charlie, I think he would have been very honoured that you chose his name. Thank you for sharing some memories of him, he sounds like an awesome uncle.

Great work on this activity, Chase. My only suggestion is to maybe separate some of your wording more so it's a little easier to read. Other than that, awesome job!

Keep up the great work :)

    Ngā mihi,
    Tayla

  2. Kia ora Chace! Olive from the Summer Learning Journey! How are you today? It's so grey today! I hope the sunshine comes out again!

I love reading about this activity! I think finding out people’s alternative names are so interesting! I really like the name you’ve chosen, Charlie is such a cool name. I really enjoyed the details you provided for choosing it! If I changed my name, I would probably choose something Dutch like “Schuyler” as my Opa (Grandfather) is Dutch and I think it’s a really special way to honour his memory and my heritage. Names can be a lovely way to remember our loved ones, ancestors and where we came from.

I notice you haven't been as active recently - maybe you're on holiday? Bad wifi connection? The dog ate your computer? Whatever the reason, my team and I would love to see more of your work! Don't give up, there are still two weeks of the program to go! Remember the end of the Summer Learning Journey is next Friday 24th January! Keep up the blogging, commenting and enthusiasm!

    Ngā mihi,
    Olive
